Restorations & Repairs: A piece of True Swatkins HistoryPosted on Apr 03, 2018
Swatkins Group were delighted to be contacted by the Chairman of Harborne Golf and Country Club, curious as to whether the Swatkins name engraved on an Annual Golfing Competition Trophy that is still played for today, would have any reference to Swatkins, world renowned Trophy Manufacturers.
Paul Swatkins – Managing Director, was thrilled to find out that this Trophy was originally donated 92 years ago by the founder of Pitt & Swatkins Ltd, Albert Swatkins in 1926. It was donated to the Harborne Church Farm Golf Club by brothers Albert & Frederick Swatkins – and the competition is still played for to this day. Handmade in the United Kingdom, this Trophy Cup is a true piece of Swatkins heritage.
5 generations and 92 years on, The Harborne Church Farm Golf Club Trophy Cup came back to the Swatkins factory where our team of time served craftsmen and women were proud to restore this prestigious trophy back to its former glory.
Our UK factory still has all the traditional Silverware manufacturing processes in house, therefore repairs and refurbishment tasks are completed to an exceptional standard, just as you would expect from a company that is celebrating its 120th year in quality manufacturing. Our clients benefit from short lead times, state of the art technology, and a team of skilled craftsmen and women who are dedicated to producing an award or repair that anyone would be extremely proud to receive. Our experienced Silversmiths are able to carry out most repairs restoring your prized possessions and family heirlooms to their original splendour.
The Harborne Church Farm Golf Club Trophy Cup now looks as good as it did in 1926, and we hope it will continue to be enjoyed for at least another 92 years!
Thank you to Mr Paul Foley for getting in contact with us – enabling us to restore a true Swatkins legend and piece of heritage.
