wear it pink – Breast Cancer Now at SwatkinsPosted on Oct 24, 2017
Swatkins Group is extremely proud to be involved and contributing to the ‘wear it pink’ Breast Cancer Now awareness day on the 20th October 2017.
Many of us at Swatkins dressed up in pink and contributed towards the fantastic charity, Breast Cancer Now. This is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, created by the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Breast Cancer Now funds research that is entirely focused on breast cancer. Their aim is that if we all act now, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live. More than 50,000 women and 350 men in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer every year – and one woman every 45 minutes loses her life to the disease. Breast Cancer Now’s research is focused on four key areas. These are risk and prevention, early detection and diagnosis, treatment and secondary breast cancer. This approach to research will allow Breast Cancer Now to achieve their ambition and stop this specific disease taking lives.
We were all honoured to be participating with the incredible charity Breast Cancer now, we thank everyone at Swatkins who contributed – you have all been very generous!
